Por qué no elegí una editorial tradicional

Elegí publicar ATARAXIA! de forma independiente porque me niego a pedir permiso para decir lo que tengo que decir.

Este libro no fue escrito para complacer, ni para ajustarse a estándares de venta o formatos de mercado. No está pensado para encajar en los moldes editoriales, sino para romperlos. ATARAXIA! es visceral, caótico, incómodo a veces. Es un grito íntimo, un manifiesto emocional que no podría haber sobrevivido al bisturí de una editorial comercial sin ser desactivado, neutralizado, domesticado.

Publicarlo bajo una licencia Creative Commons no fue una concesión, fue un acto de rebelión. Es la forma más directa y libre de lanzar un mensaje sin distorsiones. Cada texto, cada silencio, cada contradicción quedó tal como fue concebida. Nadie me pidió "bajar el tono", "ordenar cronológicamente" o "eliminar lo que incomoda". Porque eso es lo que hacen las editoriales cuando no se trata de vender literatura, sino de manufacturarla.

Al hacerlo de esta manera, tuve cosas que el sistema editorial tradicional nunca me habría dado: acceso directo al lector sin filtros y control total sobre el contenido, la estética y el mensaje.

Y fui más allá: no sólo decidí no ceder mis derechos, decidí liberarlos.

Este libro está bajo una licencia abierta. Puedes leerlo, citarlo, compartirlo, reordenarlo, intervenirlo, reinterpretarlo, hacer tu propia versión si eso te conecta con lo que hay aquí. Puedes publicarlo en papel o digital, mezclarlo con música o imágenes, siempre que respetes las condiciones de la licencia. Porque ATARAXIA! no me pertenece del todo: es un espacio abierto, una estructura poética hackeable, un mapa que cada lector puede habitar a su manera.

No quise convertir este proyecto en un objeto literario embellecido para el consumo. Quise que fuera un archivo vivo, imperfecto, y libre. Porque la literatura también puede ser un acto de desobediencia.

Why I didn't choose a traditional publisher

I chose to publish ATARAXIA! independently because I refuse to ask for permission to say what I need to say.

This book wasn’t written to please, or to fit into sales standards or market formats. It wasn’t designed to conform to editorial molds, but to break them. ATARAXIA! is visceral, chaotic, sometimes uncomfortable. It’s an intimate scream, an emotional manifesto that would not have survived the scalpel of a commercial publisher without being defused, neutralized, or tamed.

Publishing it under a Creative Commons license was not a concession—it was an act of rebellion. It’s the most direct and free way to release a message without distortion. Every word, every silence, every contradiction remains as it was conceived. No one asked me to “tone it down,” “organize it chronologically,” or “remove what makes people uneasy.” Because that’s what publishers do when the goal is not to share literature, but to manufacture it.

By doing it this way, I gained what the traditional publishing system could never have given me: direct access to the reader without filters and full control over the content, the aesthetics, and the message.

And I went further: I didn’t just choose not to give up my rights—I chose to release them.

This book is under an open license. You can read it, quote it, share it, rearrange it, intervene in it, reinterpret it—make your own version if it connects you with what’s here. You can publish it in print or digitally, mix it with music or images, as long as you respect the terms of the license. Because ATARAXIA! does not entirely belong to me: it’s an open space, a hackable poetic structure, a map each reader can inhabit in their own way.

I didn’t want to turn this project into a polished literary product for consumption. I wanted it to be a living, imperfect, and free archive. Because literature can also be an act of disobedience.

ATARAXIA! is not printed on demand: it is released by desire.

Suicidio y Muerte:
El tema más delicado, explorando la tentación del suicidio y el sufrimiento de vivir "sin vivir ni morir". La obra aborda este anhelo de cese del dolor con crudeza, pero lo reconduce hacia la búsqueda de ayuda y paz interior, sin glorificar la muerte.
Suicide and Death:
The most delicate theme, exploring the temptation of suicide and the suffering of living "without living or dying." The work addresses this longing for cessation of pain with rawness, but redirects it towards the search for help and inner peace, without glorifying death.

In Abismo, the tone becomes slower and denser: it is exhaustion after the storm, the coldness of resignation, expressing emotion between fury and a total loss of meaning.
Desenlace – Catarsis y Calma (Luz y Ataraxia):
En Luz y Ataraxia, la voz lírica muta hacia la contemplación. Se reconoce el dolor, pero ya no desde la herida abierta, sino desde el aprendizaje. Se percibe alivio, aceptación, un silencio amable. La voz se vuelve filosófica, reflexiva, incluso luminosa en su vulnerabilidad, habiendo atravesado el infierno y ahora hablando con la serenidad de quien ha sobrevivido.
Resolution – Catharsis and Calm (Light and Ataraxia):
In Luz and Ataraxia, the lyrical voice transforms towards contemplation. Pain is acknowledged, but no longer from an open wound, but from learning. Relief, acceptance, a gentle silence are perceived. The voice becomes philosophical, reflective, even luminous in its vulnerability, having traversed hell and now speaking with the serenity of one who has survived.
Cierre – Melancolía y Gratitud (Ocaso):
En Ocaso, la voz poética se despide. Agradece, deja ir, respira. El tono es de ocaso verdadero: ya no hay urgencia, solo una especie de tristeza dulce, de paz luego del temblor. Aquí la voz se convierte en eco, en memoria, en cierre de ciclo, asimilando lo vivido y hallando una calma tras la catarsis.
Closing – Melancholy and Gratitude (Ocaso):
In Ocaso, the poetic voice bids farewell. It gives thanks, lets go, breathes. The tone is that of a true twilight: there is no longer urgency, only a kind of sweet sadness, of peace after the tremor. Here the voice becomes an echo, a memory, a cycle's end, assimilating what has been lived and finding a calm after catharsis.
